It is the day after the first official day of autumn and we're expecting clear skies and 85 degrees -- again. Don't get me wrong: I love summer but we've reached the point on the calendar where we're supposed to have crisp air, crunching leaves, and the incentive to break out the crockpot for soup. Having four distinct seasons is one of the reasons I love living in Colorado. (Full disclosure: winter is my least favorite, mostly because of all the dark!
I've started working on my Christmas quilts and projects now and am having a hard time keeping motivated. My sewing room faces south and so it's one of the warmest rooms in the house. My snowman appliques keep melting!
Oh, well. Check this space in May and I will be railing at the late, heavy snows that are snapping branches off of newly leafed out trees! As my 15-year-old son says, "I guess some people always have to find something to complain about." He is my eternal optimist and rarely has a beef with the world!
